How to Promote Event

Once you have planned an event, you undoubtedly want it to be a success. The only way this will happen is if you promote the event.  You need to let people know when and where it will take place.

First, you have to form a committee to promote the event. Exchange ideas of what each can do to promote the event without too much expense. Decide on what you can spend on advertising.

With your own computer, you can make and produce fliers. They can be easily distributed by volume through mail or by delivering it personally. You can also use the internet to announce the coming event by sending e-mail to all involved with all the details of the event. It will definitely save time and money.

Selling tickets is also one way to promote an event because people will see when and where it is being held and how much is the price.

Especially if it is a big event, you can advertise in the local paper. The cost is minimal and sometimes they won’t ask for payment if they are listed as sponsor of the event. You can also talk and ask local radio and TV channels if they can sponsor the event because this will allow you to attract even more people for your event.

The event should not be more than 3 hours because people want to enjoy and also get on with their life. Make sure you and the venue are aware of who is doing what, when, why and how.  A one page contract/agreement should be signed by both parties explaining responsibilities.

Lastly, be prepared.  Everything will be all right if something goes wrong.
