Speed Dating is an organized process of matchmaking or dating system whose purpose is to meet a large number of people in a short period of time. The concept of speed dating was introduced by Rabbi Yascov Deyo of Aish Torah to Jewish singles with the intent of meeting and eventually marrying.

The first speed dating event took place at Peet’s Café in Beverly Hills and by 2000, speed dating has soared, perhaps boosted by its portrayal in shows like Sex in the City as something that glamorous people did.

Speed dating is for singles. Participants can come alone without feeling out of place. It is something that a woman who likes to go out in groups can do. It has some advantages over most other venues for meeting people, such as bars, because everybody is supposedly there to meet someone.

How it works

Speed dating is a short 3 to 5 minute dates where one speed dating participant will meet with another for a face to face conversation. A Signal is given to all speed dating participant, and each person will make notes as to whether or not they would like to meet their date again before moving on to another person. Participants will then receive an email after a day as to who wanted to meet them and a method of contacting each other.

It’s a date!  Is a speed dating craze that is fun, fast and safe and the first of its kind in Cagayan de Oro City.  Every single men and women ages from 20 to 40 are invited to join. Who knows? You might find the one perfect or not so perfect mate for you. So, wear your best attire and your best smiles and paint the town red!

It’s SAFE, FUN, and Fast!!

No more personal ads, blind dates or bar scene pick-ups. Where else can you meet a dozen or more people at one time who are there for the same reason you are?

“Speed Dating” events are a modern way to bring single professionals together in casual, fun and pressure-free environments. Everyone’s been talking about it, and you’ve probably seen the concept on popular TV shows such as Sex and The City and in the movie Hitch.

How It Works:

Register:

Step one is to register for the Speed Dating event, just fill out the Registration Form available at Club Tilt or you can request thru email at exoroeventsites@gmail.com

Once we receive your Registration Form and payment, well send you an e-mail confirmation and text confirmation of your registration. If we don’t receive your Registration Form and Payment before the specified deadline, you may be added to our waiting list.

Sign In:
Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the official start time to sign-in and mingle. We will begin promptly at 5:00pm.

The Waiting List:
To ensure an even balance of men and women, if you do not sign in at least 15 minutes before the event starts, your spot will be given to the top name on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list, we ask that you arrive 30-45 minutes before the start time and let us know that you are present. Feel free to mix and mingle with the other participants beforehand, and keep your fingers crossed...a spot may open up for you. (We may also contact you before the event if we receive a cancellation.)

The Big Event!
On the event date, February 11, Saturday, there will be an equal number of men and women. We facilitate the whole thing so you are guaranteed to meet everyone. To maximize your experience, we hold the events in private or semi-private areas at an upscale venue. We will give each participant a Welcome Pack, including a name tag (with your first name and a number only) and Score Card. A cash bar will be available for soft drinks or something stiffer (please drink responsibly).

We will review the Ground Rules a few minutes before the start time…you do not disclose your last name, where you live or work, phone number, etc. Nor do you ask someone out during the event itself…no pressure!

At the start of the event, everyone puts on a nametag with only your first name and a number. The event is organized so that you will chat, ask questions, and check out the chemistry with everyone in a string of one-on-one conversations lasting 5 minutes each. At the end of the 5 minutes, a bell will ring, and you will have 1 minute to fill out your “Score Card” as to whether you would like to see that person again in the future. The men will then move to the next seat.

The process continues until everyone has met. Half way through there will be a short break where you may refill your drinks, stretch, etc. When all the men have met all the women, you hand in your completed “Score Card” to the host. The event itself will last for about two and a half hours. You are then welcome to stay and mingle for a while, take the opportunity to meet other fabulous people who are there to meet others just like you, and learn more about the New Castle Jaycees!

It's a Match! (Or two, or three, or more...)
After the event, we will compile the information from everyone's Score Cards to determine who matches up. If two people mutually checked “YES,” then that's a match (odds are you'll have one or more matches). You'll receive a private e-mail within three days of the event listing the first names and e-mail addresses or phone numbers of the people you matched with. From there, it's up to you to contact one another to learn more about each other and set up another date.
